This game is just one part of the ACC-Big 12 Challenge, but this is clearly the marquee matchup. Kansas began the week as the #1 team in the country, according to the Coaches’ poll, and was second with the Associated Press. On Tuesday they lost 85-69 to West Virginia, despite committing only 13 turnovers. But they didn’t do too well shooting from inside the arc in that game, making 12 out of 30 attempts. What’s interesting is that they have the opportunity to perhaps even maintain their lofty ranking if they can pull an upset over the Kentucky Wildcats, who are ranked fourth in both of the major polls, but are also coming off a defeat, this one by a 82-80 score to Tennessee. The game begins at 6 PM ET on ESPN, and BetAnySports customers, who have the chance to engage in lively Asian casino action with three no-download options, can also place wagers even after the game has begun, using the state-of-the-art software available through Live Betting Ultra.

There is a bit of a mini-scandal hanging over the Kansas program right now, and involves the accusations of a young girl who was allegedly raped in the dorm building where the Kansas players live. At least five members of the team were interviewed by police, and that includes the team leader, Frank Mason, who is the leading scorer as well as the best three-point marksman. Another player who supposedly was interviewed, Carlton Bragg, has been suspended, for “violations of team rules.” Officials from the University insist that this has nothing to do with the current rape investigation. However, on the floor, it will leave Kansas with one less big man, and one less member of the rotation. Remember, this is not a particularly deep squad, so now Bill Self, who was using only seven players as it was, will have to dip into the bench for players who have not had a lot of time.

The Jayhawks play with a rather small lineup, using four guards most of the time. Mason averages 19.9 points per game and is 53% accurate from beyond the arc. Kentucky has to contain his long-range shooting, and they have a very talented freshman backcourt duo to do it with. De’Aaron Fox is the point guard, and he is about as athletic as they come. Malik Monk is arguably the best freshman in the country, current certainly from a scoring standpoint, averaging 21.9 points, with a high of 47 against North Carolina Tar Heels in an earlier, thrilling 103-100 victory.

But perhaps what BetAnySports patrons should pay more attention to is the fact that Kentucky is in a position to do some damage on the inside. Bam Adebayo, who got off to a slow start but has been coming on strong, scored 21 points against Tennessee, and it is likely that the Wildcats will feed him the ball underneath to make Kansas prove they can depend defend the paint. As it stands, Landon Lucas is the last, and only, line of defense, and he has to step up.

Kentucky has been a little more error-prone lately that it has on an overall basis. They’ve committed 15 turnovers a game over the last four, but on the season they have turned the ball over only 14.9% of the time, which is 10th best in the nation. And there Adjusted Offensive Efficiency is second-best in the country. John Calipari is letting his kids run a lot more than is customary, so this could have the effect of wearing down the Jayhawks, or forcing them to use very inexperienced players in key roles. The one “Ace in the hole,” they may have is 6-8 freshman Josh Jackson, who does a little bit of everything, and won’t be an easy defensive matchup for anyone on the Kentucky team. More likely than not, 6-3 Isaiah Briscoe will have to deal with him, but is going to need help.
