NBA Weekly Basketball Betting Report | Jan. 13

There is little doubt that the Golden State Warriors are the best team in the NBA this season at 36-2 straight-up through Tuesday’s action, but a few other teams in the Western Conference and one very familiar foe in the Eastern Conference are riding an impressive winning streak of their own right now.

The San Antonio Spurs continue to keep the pressure on the Warriors for the top spot in the West at 34-6 SU and with this past Tuesday’s 109-99 victory against Detroit as seven-point road favorites their current SU winning streak stands at nine games. Bettors along for the ride have done pretty well with the Spurs’ 7-2 record against the spread during this same stretch of games. San Antonio will be back in action on Thursday night in a huge showdown against Cleveland on its home court.

The 27-9 Cavaliers have opened-up a 4.5-game lead over Toronto at the top of the standings in the East with their eight-game SU winning streak. This past Tuesday, they upended Dallas 110-107, but after failing to cover as six-point road favorites, they are just 3-5-1 ATS in their last nine outings. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five games.

Another team boasting an impressive SU winning streak has been the Los Angeles Clippers. Their current streak reached nine games with this past Sunday’s 114-111 win against New Orleans as 9.5-point home favorites on 5Dimes’ closing betting odds. It was just the second time in the Clippers’ last 10 games that they failed to cover and the total has gone OVER in five of their last eight games. Los Angeles will play host to Miami on Wednesday night to try and keep its steak alive.

If you are looking for another profitable team to bet on right now, then you might what to take a closer look at the New York Knicks. Following Tuesday’s 120-114 victory over Boston as slight one-point home underdogs, they are 5-1 SU in their last six games while going a perfect 6-0 ATS. The total went OVER 5Dimes’ closing 200.5-point line against the Celtics and it has gone OVER in four of the six games in this current run.

Next-up for the Knicks is Wednesday night’s road game against the rival Brooklyn Nets. They come into this matchup as five-point road favorites against a Nets’ team that has lost its last five games both SU and ATS. The total stayed UNDER 195 in Monday’s 106-79 loss to San Antonio as a 14.5-point home underdog and it has stayed UNDER in Brooklyn’s last seven games.
