The Portland Trail Blazers are trying to remain hot, and they will have to, because they are chasing the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Will they face a challenge from the New York Knicks? At the same time, the Knicks will be limiting the minutes for people like Carmelo Anthony and probably point guard Derrick Rose, as they take a look at young players like guard Ron Baker and center Willie Hernangomez, along with three other rookies. Hornacek, however, has pointed out that if it’s a close game, you will see the veterans in there. Can they make it close? Well, that’s a good question – we don’t really know the answer, but we can tell you that when New York is in the second end of the back to back situation (they played at Utah and lost last night), they have gone 10-3 to the “over,” and this is the worst defensive rebounding team in the NBA, so even on those shots Portland doesn’t make, they have a good chance for a second opportunity.
